Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Press Brake Operator to join our fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake machines to bend and shape sheet metal components with precision and efficiency. Your expertise will ensure that all fabricated parts meet strict quality standards and specifications, contributing to the production of high-quality metal products. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate press brake machines, ensuring accurate bending according to detailed blueprints and technical drawings
- Read and interpret technical drawing and blueprint specifications to determine proper tooling and machine settings
- Adjust machine parameters for different materials and thicknesses to achieve precise bends and angles
- Perform routine inspections of finished parts using calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times
- Collaborate with fabrication and assembly team to ensure seamless production flow
- Conduct quality inspections throughout the process, identifying defects or deviations for immediate correction
Requirements
- Proven experience operating press brake machines in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge of tooling, tooling setup, and machine maintenance procedures
- Ability to read complex blueprints and technical drawings effectively
- Familiarity with CNC programming and CNC laser cutting is a plus for versatile machining skills
- Knowledge of other fabrication processes such welding, rolling, fastening, and cutting
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and adjustments during setup and production
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication including use of hand tools, tooling setups, cranes, calipers, and precision measuring instruments
- Ability to operate forklifts safely when required for material handling
- Strong understanding of quality inspection procedures to ensure products meet specifications
