Role CNC Set-up and Shop Supervisor– 1st Shift
Work Site 200 Tilton Road
Northfield, NH 03276
Duration/Hours Full-Time, 40 hours per week
First Shift – 7am – 3pm
Experience / Qualifications:
- 5 years’ experience in the setup and operation of CNC Vertical Mills and Lathes
- Proven ability to perform CNC machine setups, troubleshoot programs at the control, and optimize feeds and speeds
- Advanced proficiency in the use of inspection equipment including Thread Gages, Plug Gages, Calipers, Micrometers, and surface plates to ensure strict quality control
- Ability to interpret CAD drawings, engineering blueprints, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Prior experience leading, mentoring, or managing a small team in a manufacturing environment is highly preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage shop throughput, balance schedules, and reassign tasks dynamically
- Ability to lift and manipulate objects up to 50 lbs
- Hiring criteria will be based on leadership capability, scheduling acumen, and expert-level setup skills
Expectations:
- Leadership / Team First: Manages a team of 5 shop employees, handling day-to-day operational questions and stepping in to run equipment or perform setups whenever needed to keep production moving
- Production Management: Takes ownership of the shop schedule; monitors employee throughput and proactively shifts resources to assure priority jobs are completed, especially in the event of team absences
- Problem Solver: Models a positive attitude, professional work ethic, and calm leadership when handling production bottlenecks or challenges
- Safety & Quality Champion: Enforces safe work practices, ensures safe operation of all shop equipment, and holds the team accountable for quality standards
- Attendance: Regular and prompt attendance—ability to work the defined schedule consistently is required to lead the shop effectively
- Suggests and implements continuous improvements to existing processes to enhance shop safety, quality, delivery, and productivity
