Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Commercial Concrete Estimator to join our team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate, timely, and competitive estimates for a wide range of commercial concrete projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and related documents to determine scope and requirements of concrete work.
- Prepare full project estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor pricing, and general conditions.
- Incorporate safety in the means and methods decision-making during the estimating phase.
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and field staff to ensure feasibility and accuracy of estimates.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, job walks, and client presentations as needed.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, owners and general contractors.
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and project documentation.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, material costs, and construction methods.
Qualifications:
- 2 or 4 year degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field, or equivalent industry experience
- 3–5 years of commercial concrete estimating experience
- In-depth knowledge of concrete construction methods, equipment, materials, and productivity factors.
- Proficiency with estimating software
- Strong understanding of building codes, safety requirements, and industry best practices for concrete.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and civil drawings.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to interface with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
