Medical Assistant / Clinical Research Assistant
Quality Clinical Research, a clinical research practice in Omaha, Nebraska, is seeking a dependable, organized, and compassionate Medical Assistant / Clinical Research Assistant to support our clinical team and ongoing research studies. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with patients, maintaining accurate documentation, and contributing to high-quality clinical research.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and research participants and prepare examination or research rooms.
- Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and medication information.
- Assist healthcare providers and research staff with examinations, procedures, and study visits.
- Schedule appointments and maintain accurate electronic medical records.
- Support participant recruitment, screening, enrollment, and follow-up.
- Assist with informed-consent documentation under the supervision of authorized study personnel.
- Enter research data and maintain accurate, organized study files.

- Phlebotomy
- Coordinate laboratory samples, study visits, and research materials.
- Follow HIPAA requirements, study protocols, Good Clinical Practice guidelines, and workplace safety procedures.
- Communicate professionally with patients, research participants, investigators, sponsors, and other team members.
- Perform general administrative and clinical duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Medical Assistant certification or relevant clinical experience preferred.
- Previous experience in a medical office, clinic, laboratory, or clinical research setting is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain patient and research participant confidentiality.
- Basic computer skills and experience with electronic medical records or research databases preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and occasional weekends as needed.

While performing this role, the employee may be required to:
- Stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, stoop, and move throughout the clinic for extended periods
- Sit at a desk and use a computer, phone, and other office equipment for extended periods
- Stand during participant visits, clinical procedures, specimen handling, and study preparation
- Use hands and fingers to perform phlebotomy, handle clinical supplies, process specimens, and operate equipment
- Lift, carry, push, or pull clinical supplies, study materials, files, and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds
- Organize, move, and stock study supplies and laboratory materials
- Communicate clearly in person, by phone, electronically, and in writing
- Work in a clinical environment where exposure to blood, bodily fluids, needles, laboratory specimens, infectious materials, or other potential hazards may occur
- Follow all safety procedures, use appropriate personal protective equipment, and comply with infection-control standards
