Duties

• Prepare surfaces for coating by performing surface cleaning, sanding, and surface preparation using hand tools, power tools, or specialized equipment.
• Operate powder coating equipment including spray guns, airless paint sprayers, and conventional spray systems to apply coatings evenly and efficiently.
• Handle materials safely using forklifts, cranes, and proper materials handling techniques to move parts throughout the production process.
• Interpret production documents such as work orders, process sheets, and quality standards to ensure accurate application of coatings.
• Maintain adherence to safety protocols by properly using personal protective equipment (PPE) such as respirators, PPE suits, gloves, and eye protection during all tasks.
• Conduct visual color comparisons and inspect coated surfaces for consistency, color accuracy, and defect detection following quality standards in production.
• Perform routine maintenance on spray guns, coating equipment, hand tools, and machinery to ensure optimal operation and safety compliance.
• Follow lean manufacturing principles to minimize waste and improve workflow efficiency while maintaining high-quality output.
• Assist with construction painting surface preparation when necessary to support various finishing projects within the facility.
• Document all activities accurately in production logs and reports to ensure traceability and quality control.

Experience

• Previous experience in industrial painting or powder coating operations is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with coating application techniques such as airless spraying, conventional spraying, or auto painting is beneficial.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, materials handling, and warehouse operations enhances your ability to succeed in this role.
• Mechanical aptitude with experience operating hand tools, power tools, cranes, or other lifting equipment is advantageous.
• Understanding of safety protocols related to respiratory protection (respirators), PPE use, and industrial painting standards is essential.
• Experience interpreting technical drawings or production documents helps ensure accurate coating application aligned with specifications.

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
