As a Qualcomm CPU Architecture Engineer, you will architect and design state-of-the-art CPUs that push the envelope on performance, energy efficiency, and scalability. Qualcomm Engineers collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the world of compute products from conceptualization through post-silicon verification.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Computer Architecture, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
1 year of work and/or academic CPU Architecture or related work experience.
1 year work and/or academic experience with programming (e.g., C, C , etc.).
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Applies knowledge of CPU Architecture (e.g., data prefetching) to assist in the architect, design, prototyping, and/or optimization of CPU features for high performance and low power.
Assists in building performance modeling simulators, developing software, tools, and tests, running benchmarks for applications, and performing pre- and post-silicon verification to ensure performance and power goals are met.
Analyzes routine workloads in order to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
Debugs and addresses routine performance model issues.
Collaborates with team members to identify design solutions that meet CPU performance and power requirements.
Writes detailed technical documentation and test descriptions for projects.
Level of Responsibility:
Works under supervision.
Decision-making affects direct area of work and/or work group.
Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey basic, routine factual information.
Tasks require multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; some planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.
