Job Title: HVAC Installer
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and highly collaborative HVAC Installer to join our team in the Massillon, OH. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in sheet metal fabrication and copper pipe brazing, plus the required EPA Type II certification. You will work closely with our field teams and project managers to install high-quality residential and commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Installation: Assemble and install residential and light commercial HVAC units, ensuring all work strictly adheres to manufacturer specifications and local building codes.
- Sheet Metal Work: Fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal and flex duct systems. Modify and route ductwork for optimized airflow.
- Brazing & Piping: Route, cut, and connect copper refrigerant lines. Braze joints to high pressure/tight standards without leaks.
- System Operations: Run line and low-voltage electrical wiring, test gas lines, and safely pull vacuums/charge systems.
- Team Collaboration: Work well with others on-site, effectively communicating with fellow installers, apprentices, and superiors to complete jobs on schedule. [1, 2]
- Job Prep: Pre-measure jobs, load/unload equipment, verify material quantities, and keep job sites and company vehicles clean.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Certifications: EPA Section 608 Certification (Type II or Universal) required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1–5 years of dedicated experience in HVAC system installation, specifically within the residential and light commercial sectors.
- Technical Skills: Proven capability to read blueprints, interpret wiring schematics, and perform advanced sheet metal layout and brazing.
- Team Player: Strong interpersonal skills with a proven track record of collaborating productively in a team environment.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50–100 lbs unassisted and work comfortably in tight or elevated spaces (attics, crawlspaces).
- Licensure: High School Diploma or GED, and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
