At our core, we’re a company that believes we can always create a better way. Quad in Hartford is seeking a candidate for our Pre-Apprentice Mechanical Maintenance Trainee program. Career paths provide a glimpse into a world-class maintenance environment while completing related classes. The wage range for this position is $18 - $25/hr, depending on experience. Mechanical Maintenance Trainees receive hands-on experience working in the Industrial Trades. They will assist skilled maintenance personnel in the service and repair, installation, operation, and modification, of equipment throughout our advanced manufacturing facilities. Our training program includes exposure to Safe work practices, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing Mechanical systems. Additional areas of learning include: Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Predictive Maintenance, Welding, Machine tool operation, and more. Trainees can receive regular wage increases at performance milestones and are given a firsthand look at a variety of industrial career paths within the company. Trainees are eligible to apply for Quad's Registered Maintenance Mechanic Apprentice Program. Trainee hours and school credits apply to our apprenticeship programs. Hours of this position are flexible around school schedules. Required Qualifications: Successful candidates must be able to perform the following: lift 10-15 pounds continuously, lift to 50 pounds occasionally, receive and follow instructions, and use vision to identify defects with or without reasonable accommodation. Good verbal and written comprehension, the ability to thrive in a team environment, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision are required. Proficient in basic mechanical repair. Ability to use a personal computer. Ability to work a 12-hour compressed schedule (7 AM–7 PM or 7 PM–7 AM) - Imagine having four days off every other week to recharge, spend time with family, or pursue your passions. Preferred Qualifications: Enrolled in or completed an Industrial Maintenance Technician Program. Experience in an Industrial manufacturing environment is a plus.
