In this critical role, you will oversee and execute complex payroll operations, ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, and serve as a subject matter expert for payroll processes. This position requires exceptional accuracy, discretion, and a strong understanding of multi-location and multi-state payroll practices.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess payroll for 350 employees, including salaried, hourly, and seasonal staffReview and audit timekeeping records, deductions, and adjustments for accuracy and compliance; communicate with supervisors to investigate missing or unusual activityEnsure timely and accurate processing of payroll, including bonuses, garnishments, and reimbursementsMaintain payroll records in accordance with company policies and government regulationsReconcile payroll reports and assist with month-end and year-end close activitiesAudit benefits (both paid time off balances and medical benefit contributions) monthly to ensure accuracy.Generate payroll-related reports for finance, audit, and compliance purposesRespond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies professionally and promptlyDemonstrate knowledge of ADP Workforce Now at an intermediate or expert level in recent 3 years. Support the implementation and optimization of any new payroll systems or HRIS software.Stay current on wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and payroll best practicesProvide training or support to HR support staff as neededQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred5-10 years of payroll processing experience, with a strong track record of accuracy and confidentialityExperience with multi-state payroll and high-volume processing strongly preferredIn-depth knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and labor complianceProficiency in payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now, Paylocity, Paycom, or similar platforms.
