If you take pride in cleanliness and safety, we would love to speak with you! QSAC is seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the upkeep and maintenance of the physical plant across all QSAC facilities.
This is a full-time Maintenance Supervisor opportunity.
The Maintenance office is based in Queens, but travel to other locations is required. Vehicle will be provided for travel to programs.
The salary for this position is $32 an hour.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Adhere to building/maintenance codes to ensure health, safety & welfare of facilities, individuals and employees.
- Supervise Maintenance Workers (including office cleaning staff).
- Perform duties of the Senior Maintenance Supervisor in their absence.
- Instruct, in-service and train Maintenance workers in best maintenance techniques.
- Conduct physical plant walk-thru in all facilities and remedy all identified concerns.
- Obtain bids for QSAC maintenance projects and maintain vendor relationships. Meet vendors/inspectors as needed at all facilities.
- Supervise projects including plumbing, carpentry, moving furniture, deliveries, construction, painting, etc.
- Assign work orders to maximize productivity and utilize staff knowledge and experience.
- Demonstrate safety and care of equipment and supplies to protect from damage and theft, including department vehicles.
- Follow procedures for the purchase and use of equipment and supplies.
- Respond to physical plant/maintenance emergencies as needed, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Report to work for snow removal as
needed. - Report for QSAC events for preparation and breakdown as needed. May include weekend or evenings.
- Ensure facility security by following proper open and close procedures daily.
- Drive defensively and maintain a clean driving record.
- Commitment to company values, adherence to policies, and maintain individual/family confidentiality.
- Attendance and punctuality is essential.
- Perform duties of the Senior Maintenance Supervisor in their absence.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and/or senior management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be able to lift 50 lb. items.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with others.
- Clearance through state mandated Background/Fingerprint Check(s).
- Valid NYS Driver License for 1 year minimum.
- Maintain valid S-95 FDNY Certificate of Fitness.
- Substantial work-related experience.
- Flexible schedule including overtime, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as needed.
