Responsibilities
- Accurately measure, cut, shape, and finish granite or quartz slabs using hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment according to blueprint specifications.
- Follow detailed fabrication instructions to produce custom countertops, vanities, or other stone surfaces with precision.
- Safely operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and other machinery required for materials handling and transportation within the warehouse or job site.
- Prepare work areas by adhering to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as respirators, gloves, eye protection, and hearing protection.
- Install fabricated stone surfaces securely on-site, ensuring proper alignment, sealing, and finishing for a polished appearance.
- Handle materials carefully during fabrication and installation to prevent damage or injury; perform heavy lifting as needed while following safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace by properly storing tools and materials while complying with safety standards in manufacturing and construction environments.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in fabrication, manufacturing, construction, or related fields such as millwork or stone finishing is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, tape measures, and dimensional measurements is essential for accuracy.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to operate heavy equipment like forklifts is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of safety standards in production environments; committed to PPE use and safety protocol adherence at all times.
- Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and blueprint following; familiarity with reading technical drawings is a plus.
- Experience with materials handling, machining, polishing, and assembly of stone surfaces is desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining focus on safety regulations throughout all tasks.
- Warehouse experience or background in manufacturing environments will be beneficial for understanding workflow processes.
