What are the responsibilities and job description for the Packer-1st position at QPS Employment Group?
Position Title: Packer
Wage: $16.50 per hour
Shift: 1st
Hours: 8:00am-4:00pm
QPS Employment Group has a great Packer position available at a company in Darlington, WI. This is a 1st shift position with the opportunity for hire.
Packer Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Remain at the workstation unless relieved by an authorized employee or unless an assigned job requires the employee to move between workstations.
- Watching molds so parts are not closed in and the sprue is not stringing causing build up on mold.
- Loading inserts properly if required & trim flash and snip gates properly.
- Print, Assemble, Sort, Drill, or Gauge parts as required.
- Maintain standard cycles & watch and report on water or oil leaks.
- Watch and report any safety malfunctions, such as drop bar failure, drill press guards, etc.
- Listen to instructions and changing sounds of machinery. (Noise of mold, machine, grinder, pump, drop bar).
- To pass on information and instructions to the relieving operator
- To perform any inspector functions at the job station as instructed and perform any packaging and labeling functions as instructed.
- To familiarize self with all information posted at the job station pertaining to part quality, packaging requirements, method of operations, and safety.
- Use all the time allocated before the start of each shift to review and perform the same job functions without disruptions.
- To perform any post-molding operations as required at the job station, including assemble, glue, polish.
- To grind runner, sprues, and other scrap as required in such a manner as not to damage the equipment from overload.
- To call for and notify supervision in a timely manner if trouble develops with the mold or equipment or quality problems arise.
- To adhere to all company policies regarding conduct, safety practices, job performance, and quality standards, etc.
- To keep their immediate workstation clean & to assist in the training of inexperienced operators as instructed by supervision.
Packer Requirements:
-Standing in one place for long periods of time and some bending (45-degree angle).
- Lift up to 25lbs throughout the shift.
- Ability to work in a warm environment.
- Able to alternate between standing and sitting in certain work areas.
