JOB SUMMARY The Material Handler position is the movement of materials (raw materials, runners, regrind, scrap, semi-finished and finished) to, through and from productive processes; in warehouses and storage and in receiving and shipping areas. Under the direction of the Quality Manager and/or Distribution Lead, the primary functions of this position are to accurately move, weigh, count, label and re-package (as needed) all materials, colors, packaging items, inspect and verify any damage and insure these are placed in designated areas and or locations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Monitor and request materials and color from storage locations to production lines.• Ensure that all lines have materials delivered in a timely manner to avoid potential extrusion line shutdowns.• Responsible for all transactions performed by computer or a RF hand scanner such as receipts, moves, counts, reservations and/or other transactions needed.• Scan, apply LP label, and move finished or fabricated products from production lines to correct warehouse/storage locations.• Performs daily forklift inspections per shift.• Reports all damage or discrepancies to the Quality Manger and/or Distribution Lead.• Perform non-electronic entries such as scrap with accuracy and date with handwritten entries on paper.• Perform cycle counts, as requested, to ensure inventory accuracy to avoid stock outs.• Re-weigh or recount materials being returned to proper locations• Assist production as time permits.• Actively speaks up and reports safety, environmental or quality concerns.SECONDARY FUNCTIONS • Other duties as assigned by the Quality Manger and/or Distribution Lead and or management.PERFORMANCE MEASURES • Utilizing computer system to correctly handle transporting of materials to/from different areas.• Ability to follow directions and provide reliable results.• Accuracy with Inventory Control.• Compliance with all Company Policies (Safety, Attendance, etc.) SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY • This position does not have any supervisory responsibility. POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Regular attendance is expected and required. 2nd Shift from 2pm to 10pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.• 1 years’ experience working in a manufacturing plant and/or warehouse experience preferred. SKILLS (Language, Mathematical, Reasoning, Other) • Must be able to communicate in English, both written and verbal.• Basic computer skills necessary.• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to work well and communicate with others is preferred.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS • Possess forklift certification or able to obtain forklift certification. WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS • Able to lift 40 pounds repetitively.• Be able to work in a production environment.• Works in manufacturing environment occasionally being exposed to dust, odors, fumes and noise.
