CNC Machinist

Position Title: CNC Machinist

Wage: $20.00-$24.00 per hour

Shift: 1st

Hours: 7:00am-3:30pm (Mon-Fri)

QPS Employment Group has a great CNC Machinist position available at a company in Lake Mills, IA. This is a 1st shift position with the opportunity for hire.

CNC Machinist Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Set up, program, and operate CNC milling machines to manufacture precision components according to blueprints and job specifications.
• Adjust cutting tools, speeds, and feeds to ensure efficient and accurate machining.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, and height gauges, to verify tight tolerances.
• Read and interpret blueprints, tolerances, and GD&T requirements.
• Maintain accurate setup sheets, CNC program files, and inspection records to ensure repeatability.
• Assist with fixture design and setup optimization.
• Support continuous improvement efforts related to machining processes, tooling, and fixtures.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Operate various CNC equipment, including milling machines, routers, lathes, and saws, as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

CNC Machinist Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of CNC milling experience.
• Ability to independently set up and operate CNC milling equipment with minimal supervision.
• Strong understanding of cutting tool selection and tool life optimization.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, tolerances, and GD&T symbols.
• Experience machining tight-tolerance precision parts.
• Ability to make adjustments to tooling, speeds, and feeds.
• Comfortable assisting with fixture design and setup optimization.
• Experience working in a regulated or quality-driven manufacturing environment, such as ISO 9001.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.
• Ability to maintain accurate production and inspection documentation.
• Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the workday.
• Ability to repeatedly lift and handle materials weighing up to 70 lbs.
• Ability to work around loud machinery and moving mechanical equipment.
• Ability to work in an environment with varying temperatures.
• Ability to safely wear and utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ability to perform the physical tasks associated with operating CNC machinery, including reaching, bending, lifting, and handling materials.
