Equipment & Reliability Engineer
Sites Supported: Tralee Park and Tralee Park Annex – Newark, DE
Primary Focus: Equipment Reliability, Asset Performance, Utilities & Facilities Accountability
Role Purpose
The Equipment & Reliability Engineer is responsible for maximizing the reliability, availability, and performance of manufacturing equipment and site infrastructure at the Tralee Park and Tralee Park Annex facilities. This role provides technical leadership in equipment reliability, preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, and lifecycle asset management, drives capital project execution, and has overall accountability for utilities and facilities systems across both sites.
The position partners closely with Operations, Maintenance, EHS, and Engineering to reduce unplanned downtime, improve asset utilization, and ensure utilities and facilities are safe, compliant, and fit for current and future production needs.

Role Purpose

Key Responsibilities
Equipment Reliability & Asset Performance
- Serve as the technical owner for equipment reliability across both sites, driving improvements in uptime, MTBF, and overall equipment effectiveness.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) of chronic equipment failures and unplanned downtime; develop and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Develop, optimize, and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance strategies in collaboration with Maintenance.
- Identify “bad actor” equipment and prioritize reliability improvement plans using data, failure history, and operational input.
- Support equipment lifecycle management, including specification, commissioning, performance validation, and decommissioning activities.
- Provide reliability engineering input to capital projects, equipment upgrades, and new equipment installations.
- Hold overall accountability for utilities and facilities systems at Tralee Park and Tralee Park Annex, including (but not limited to) power distribution, HVAC, compressed air, water systems, and building infrastructure.
- Ensure utilities and facilities systems are reliable, capacity‑appropriate, and aligned with current and forecasted manufacturing needs.
- Partner with Facilities, Maintenance, and EHS to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead or support troubleshooting and recovery of utility or facilities‑related disruptions impacting operations.
- Support long‑term utilities and facilities planning, including capacity assessments, risk mitigation, and investment prioritization.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, cost reduction, and risk elimination.
- Support Operations during unplanned events and major outages, providing technical expertise and structured problem solving.
- Drive capital project execution for utilities projects
- Develop and maintain equipment and utility documentation, standards, and best practices.
- Partner with Operations and Maintenance to improve operator care, troubleshooting capability, and equipment ownership.
- Contribute to site reliability reviews, KPI tracking, and performance reporting.
- Works closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, EHS, and site leadership across both Tralee Park and Tralee Park Annex.
- Interfaces with external vendors, OEMs, contractors, and service providers for equipment, utilities, and facilities systems.
- Supports reliability forums and cross‑site knowledge sharing where applicable.
