What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician position at Qnetic?
Qnetic was founded with the mission to enable the transition to clean, sustainable energy. To achieve it, we are developing a high-performance energy storage system for the electric grid, based on new flywheel technology. It delivers ‘energy shifting’ at a lower cost than anything we know about. Compared to lithium-ion batteries, Qnetic has 3x the lifetime, 2x the discharge duration, 0.5x the cost and 0x the degradation.
We’re building something fundamentally different — and we’re looking for people who are driven to solve hard challenges, do meaningful work, and make a real impact on the future of energy.
About The Role
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Electro-Mechanical Assembly Mechanical Technician to join our team in building a greenfield factory from the ground up. Our factory is a greenfield facility built from the ground up tailored for assembling and maintaining heavy equipment used in energy storage systems enabled by flywheel technology. It integrates modern equipment, lean operations, and scalable infrastructure to support high-quality production. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a startup environment focused on advanced manufacturing in the energy storage industry. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in heavy equipment assembly and maintenance, with at least 7 years of experience whom will acts as leader to other technician.
Assembly
What you'll do
Install, assemble, and test mechanical systems and equipment in a greenfield factory setting. Support the setup and commissioning of heavy equipment and production lines. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical components to ensure optimal performance. Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
Documentation
Recording work performed, test results, issues encountered, and repairs made in logs or job-specific documentation packages.
Safety Compliance
Adhering to all company safety protocols, using proper personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintaining a safe work environment.
Collaboration
Communicating with engineers, supervisors, and other technicians to resolve challenges, provide feedback on designs, and share best practices.
