Wire Transfer Operations Specialist

Full-time position currently available in Quakertown, PA.

Function

A Wire Payment Operations Specialist processes wire transfer requests accurately and compliantly, verifies transaction details, handles discrepancies, and monitors for compliance issues like OFAC hits. Daily tasks include executing wires, investigating and resolving exceptions, coordinating with internal teams and external banks, and maintaining proper documentation to ensure timely, secure, and compliant payment operations. Key requirements include strong attention to detail, knowledge of financial regulations and compliance, and excellent customer service and communication skills.

General Duties And Responsibilities

Wire Transfer Processing

• Process incoming and outgoing domestic and international wire transfer requests from various channels, ensuring accuracy and adherence to internal policies and service level agreements. This may require use of various systems and software.
• Process any applicable fees or wire confirmation notifications timely and accurately.
• Maintain and archive a proper trail for all transactions.
  
  

Verification

• Review wire instructions, verify account details, and authorizations, and perform any necessary call-back processing to validate the authenticity of an outgoing transaction.
• Ensure that accounts receiving credit agree with the actual wire instructions received from the sender.
  
  

Compliance

• Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, such as OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) and other anti-money laundering (AML) requirements.
• Assist with department audits.
  
  

Risk Mitigation

• Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with wire transfer requests within laws, regulations and bank policies. Ensure security protocols are followed.
• Maintain a correct balance between risk management and department efficiency.
  
  

Exception Handling

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies, errors, or issues related to wire transactions timely, coordinating and corresponding with customers, internal bank staff, and external financial institutions as needed.
  
  

Customer Service

• Provide support and timely responses to inquiries from internal staff, customers, and partners regarding wire transfers.
• Prepare and process customer wire transfer agreements, new wire setups and recurring wire setups in a timely manner. Maintain and archive the supporting documentation.
  
  

Monitoring and Reporting

• Assist in tracking and compiling wire statistics.
• May be responsible for completing daily settlement.
• Assist with coordination of monitoring the intraday and ending daily FRB balance.
  
  

Completes assigned compliance training in a timely manner and demonstrates ability to apply training to their duties and responsibilities.

Assumes additional job-related duties as may be assigned.

Required Training, Experience, And Education

• Completion of high school, vocational training or equivalent, plus 2-5 years' experience in banking with specific emphasis on wire operations or payment processing.
• Knowledge of state and federal banking compliance regulations with special emphasis on those relative to wire processing compliance.
• Excellent customer service, written and verbal communication, and telephone skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to function as an integral member of a team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
• Strong reading comprehension, grammar, and arithmetic skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Possess analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn new tasks, concepts, systems, and procedures quickly.
• Strong ability to organize and prioritize tasks.

Desirable Knowledge, Abilities, And Skills

• Previous experience working with software and online banking solutions supporting domestic and international wires.
• Working knowledge of Jack Henry Silverlake system.
