Job Description: The Human Resources Administrative Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources department, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations and compliance with company policies, federal regulations, and government contracting requirements. This role serves as a key point of contact for employees and assists with recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and personnel record management.
Job Requirements/skill sets:
- Provide administrative support for HR functions including onboarding, offboarding, and personnel actions
- Process new hire documentation including I-9 and E-Verify
- Maintain confidential personnel records
- Assist with benefits administration and employee inquiries
- Support timekeeping, leave tracking, and payroll coordination
- Support compliance efforts for federal contracting requirements
- Draft HR correspondence and employment letters
- Schedule interviews and meetings
- Maintain HRIS data accuracy
- Provide professional customer service
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- High level of discretion and confidentiality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Prior HR or administrative experience preferred
- Federal contractor experience a plus
Education Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree or coursework in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Security Clearance/Naval Facility Access: U.S. citizenship required. Must be able to meet and maintain eligibility for a Secret Clearance and/or be able to access military facilities, naval shipyards, and private shipyards.
