Facility Technicians may specialize in one of the following areas:
- HVAC / Exhaust / Vacuum / Firefighting (FF)
- CDA / Gas Systems (Compressed Dry Air, Nitrogen, Argon Recovery, GCS, Chemicals)
- Cooling Water Systems (PCW, CHW, CWS, Cooling Tower)
Core Responsibilities for All Facility Technicians
- Conduct day-to-day operation, monitoring, and routine maintenance of assigned utility systems.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of equipment and work areas using hoses, air guns, IPA, cloths, vacuum, and other tools.
- Disassemble, inspect, repair, replace, and reassemble machine or system components using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, and other mechanical devices.
- Apply adhesives, lubricants, and other materials per maintenance procedures.
- Remove hardened material from machines or equipment using appropriate tools.
- Troubleshoot malfunctions, provide corrective recommendations, and escalate as needed.
- Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and Utility Team protocols.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment logs, and system status documentation for ISO audits and internal reporting.
- Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
- Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, or abnormal utility conditions.
- HVAC / Exhaust / Vacuum / Firefighting (FF)
- Monitor and maintain CCR systems, HVAC units, exhaust fans, vacuum systems, and fire-fighting equipment.
- Troubleshoot airflow, vacuum pressure, exhaust performance, temperature, and humidity deviations.
- Maintain HVAC filters, belts, coils, motors, and fire-safety systems.
- Respond to utility alarms and ensure timely problem resolution.
- CDA / Gas / Chemical Systems
- Operate and maintain compressed dry air systems, nitrogen systems, argon recovery, GCS, and chemical supply systems.
- Monitor flow paths, pressures, and alarms using HMI and CCR systems.
- Inspect and maintain pumps, valves, gauges, and piping configurations.
- Conduct routine system checks, field testing, and lab sampling of water or gas quality parameters as needed.
- Cooling Water / Process Water Systems
- Monitor and maintain PCW, CHW, CWS, and cooling tower systems.
- Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting on pumps, valves, gauges, piping, and instrumentation.
- Use HMI and CCR monitoring systems to track system performance and respond to alarms.
- 1 years of experience in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Experience operating and maintaining facility machinery and utility systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills to detect and correct malfunctions.
- Ability to handle basic tools and maintenance equipment safely.
- Basic computer skills (Windows OS, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to read and interpret system drawings, schematics, flowpath diagrams, and process documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for shift handoffs, reporting, and team collaboration.
- The willingness to work in fast-paced production areas and meet physical demands (standing, lifting, climbing ladders, etc.).
- Experience in large-scale manufacturing facilities.
- Knowledge of ISO-compliant documentation and preventive maintenance practices.
- Prior experience with HMI systems, CCR monitoring, and alarm troubleshooting.
- Experience with pumps, valves, gauges, and utility piping systems.
- Familiarity with solar, semiconductors, or similar manufacturing processes.
- Work is performed in a large, climate-controlled manufacturing facility and may include exposure to mechanical rooms, rooftops, and outdoor equipment pads.
- Requires standing, walking, climbing ladders, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- PPE required includes safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and other task-specific gear.
- Work may include rotating shifts, nights, weekends, or on-call responsibilities depending on production and Utility Team needs.
