As Civil & Architectural Engineer, you will be the primary technical lead ensuring that manufacturing fab projects are designed and built to the owner’s specifications. You will oversee technical reviews, manage relationships with U.S.-based designers and vendors, and provide the critical quality management necessary to transition from design to a fully operational facility.
Responsibilities
- Design Coordination: Lead the overall technical alignment for all civil and architectural disciplines, ensuring design drawings meet specific owner requirements and operational needs.
- Technical Review: Conduct deep-dive reviews of construction drawings, layouts, equipment arrangements, and structural loads to ensure feasibility and compliance.
- Permitting & Code Alignment: Coordinate with local building departments and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) to ensure designs adhere to IBC (Building) and IFC (Fire) codes.
- Construction Quality Management: Oversee General Contractor (GC) activities on-site, monitoring construction progress and maintaining rigorous quality standards.
- Financial & Schedule Oversight: Manage project CAPEX (Capital Expenditure) and ensure all civil/architectural milestones are met within the established timeline.
- Stakeholder Bridge: Facilitate seamless communication and technical decision-making between the Seoul HQ and the U.S. construction site.
- Experience: 10 years in civil or architectural engineering, specifically within large-scale industrial or manufacturing sectors.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Structural Review: Ability to assess structural integrity, foundation loads, and architectural layouts.
- Facility Types: Design review experience for cleanrooms, utility buildings, and chemical/hazardous material storage.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of U.S. building codes and the multi-phased U.S. permitting process.
- Project Management: Proven track record in GC coordination and construction site quality management.
- Communication: Professional English skills for documentation, vendor management, and direct coordination with U.S. authorities.
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) license is highly preferred.
- U.S. Industrial Experience: Direct experience managing manufacturing plant projects or "fab" construction within the United States.
- Specialized Project Work: Hands-on experience with high-complexity projects involving Gas, Chemical, or hazardous material handling systems.
