- Install, configure, and service access control systems including electronic locks, card readers, and remote access software.
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex system issues efficiently.
- Perform cabling tasks involving low-voltage wiring for security systems.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely to install or repair security hardware in construction or retrofit environments.
- Document all service activities thoroughly through detailed reports and logs; maintain accurate records of system configurations and repairs.
- Support emergency response efforts by ensuring all systems are operational and accessible according to local code requirements.
- Proven experience as a service technician specializing in security or low-voltage systems installation and maintenance.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience related to security systems installation.
- Hands-on experience working with CCTV cameras, sensors, fire alarms, IDS, access control hardware, and surveillance equipment a plus.
- Familiarity with computer networking principles relevant to security system connectivity and remote access solutions.
- Skilled in reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals for electronic systems.
- Experience working on construction sites or retrofit projects involving cabling and power tools.
- Knowledge of locksmithing practices is a plus for integrating physical locking mechanisms with electronic access controls.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills across diverse systems including alarm systems sales processes or telecommunication interfaces.
- Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely while adhering to safety standards, and familiarity with millwork installation is a plus for maintenance.
