What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event production Manager position at Pyro Productions Inc.?
Job Summary
We are a premier Special Effects company expanding our reach into Full-Service Event Production. Our philosophy is simple: we provide the solutions our clients need, whether that means deploying our own growing inventory of lighting, sound, and staging, or strategically partnering with other production houses to scale up.
We are seeking a Technical Production Manager who is a "Production Native." You will lead the technical execution of our events, ensuring our SFX are perfectly integrated with the broader AV landscape. You aren't just a gear manager; you are a strategic lead who knows how to resource a show—using a mix of internal assets and external partnerships—to ensure we never have to say "no" to a client. We will provide full training on our specialized SFX systems; you bring the production expertise and industry network.
Duties
- Strategic Show Management: Lead the technical planning for events, determining the best mix of internal gear and external vendor support to meet client goals.
- Technical Integration: Oversee the "handshake" between our SFX and the lighting, audio, and staging elements, ensuring unified cues and a polished final product.
- Vendor & Partner Relations: Maintain and grow a network of sub-rental partners and specialized vendors to scale our capabilities without over-leveraging our own inventory.
- On-Site Leadership: Serve as the "Point of Command" on-site. Manage both internal crews and external partners to ensure a seamless load-in, show, and strike.
- SFX Mastery: Rapidly master our specialized SFX and pyrotechnic systems to lead a truly unified technical team.
- Budgetary Oversight: Quote and manage projects with a keen eye on margins, balancing the costs of internal labor vs. external sub-rentals.
- Safety & Standards: Ensure all production elements—regardless of who owns the gear—meet our high safety and quality standards.
Experience
- Production Industry Veteran: Strong background in AV, concert, or corporate production as a Production Manager or Technical Director.
- Resourceful Problem Solver: A track record of "making it happen" through a combination of technical skill and strategic vendor sourcing.
- Technical Generalist: Well-versed in Lighting (DMX), Audio, and Staging, with the ability to "speak the language" of all technical departments.
- Project Management: Experience managing multi-city logistics, labor calls, and equipment manifests.
- Relationship Driven: Excellent communication skills for managing clients and negotiating with production partners.
