Staff Accountant

Our client, a luxury brand, is hiring a Staff Accountant to join the team in Long Island City, NY on a hybrid schedule. This is a full-time position, focusing specifically on accounts payable. Candidates should have strong multitasking capabilities and be comfortable in a high-volume AP environment.

Job Duties Include:

• Verify journal, ledger, and other accounting entries.
• Monitor company travel programs.
• Track employee PNC usage for compliance with Company guidelines.
• Post entries to journals, ledgers, and related records.
• Maintain accurate documentation and correspondence related to expected payments.
• Perform filing, photocopying, and other administrative duties.
• Process vendor invoices.
• Submit checks and vouchers for approval and signature.
• Prepare year-end 1099 and 1096 forms in compliance with legal requirements.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end accrual schedules.
• Prepare journal entries.
• Compile, audit, and review credit card reports for accuracy and proper documentation.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities.

Job Qualifications Include:

• 2 years of experience in a general accounting environment.
• Degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
• Basic understanding of accounts payable and best practices.
• Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUPs) and Microsoft Dynamics.
• Strong math and analytical skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.

Salary: $75k-80k
