About PNWWRC

The Putnam/Northern Westchester Women's Resource Center (PNWWRC) has been providing services to women and children who are victims of domestic violence and sexual assault for over 45 years. The mission of the WRC is to provide advocacy, education, and services to the community in order to create a safe, supportive environment that eliminates violence against women, men and children.

The PNWWRC is is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the healing and empowerment of survivors of domestic and sexual violence through advocacy, education, shelter, counseling, and prevention services. We are committed to fostering a supportive, inclusive, and trauma-informed workplace.

Position Summary

Schedule: Full-Time, 35 hours/week
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with some evenings required

The Grants Manager plays a critical role in sustaining and advancing the mission of the Putnam Northern Westchester Women’s Resource Center (PNWWRC) by ensuring the effective stewardship, compliance, and strategic management of public and private funding.

As a key member of the administrative team, the Grants Manager oversees the full lifecycle of grants—particularly government funding streams such as VOCA—ensuring accuracy, accountability, and alignment with PNWWRC’s trauma-informed, survivor-centered approach.

This position works collaboratively across departments and serves as a primary liaison to state and county funders, helping to ensure that resources are maximized to support survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other forms of trauma.

Key Responsibilities

Grant Administration & Compliance

  • Manage the full lifecycle of grants, including award setup, compliance monitoring, reporting, and closeout.
  • Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and county requirements, with a strong emphasis on VOCA-funded programs.
  • Maintain accurate, organized, and audit-ready grant files and documentation.
  • Track programmatic and financial performance to ensure alignment with funder expectations and organizational goals.
  • Ensures all funding requirements are met with precision and integrity.
  • Systems Fluency: Effectively navigates multiple grant and reporting systems.
  • Collaboration: Works seamlessly across departments and with external stakeholders.
  • Organization & Time Management: Manages multiple deadlines with accuracy and efficiency.

Financial Coordination & Vouchering

  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate vouchers and reimbursement requests.
  • Work closely with finance and program teams to ensure proper allocation and tracking of grant expenditures.
  • Monitor budgets and identify potential risks, ensuring proactive resolution.

Systems Management

  • Maintain proficiency and ensure accurate use of required grant and financial systems, including:
  • Statewide Financial System (SFS)
  • Claims Management System (CMS)
  • Grants Management System (GMS)
  • Ensure all submissions and records are complete, compliant, and timely across platforms.

Funder Relations & Coordination

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for state and county funding agencies.
  • Foster strong, professional relationships with funders, ensuring responsive communication and collaboration.
  • Support audits, site visits, and monitoring activities, ensuring readiness and transparency.

Grant Development Support

  • Collaborate with leadership on grant applications, renewals, and modifications.
  • Assist in collecting data and supporting narratives that reflect PNWWRC’s impact and community need.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in public administration, nonprofit management, finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Demonstrated experience managing government grants, including VOCA funding.
  • Hands-on experience with SFS, CMS, and GMS systems.
  • Proven experience with grant vouchering and reimbursement processes.
  • Experience working with and engaging state and county funding offices.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external partners.
  • Must have own car with the ability to travel as needed.
  • Must be able to work some flexible hours as needed.

Preferred

  • Experience in victim services, nonprofit, or human services environments.
  • Familiarity with audit processes and compliance monitoring.
  • Experience supporting grant writing or development efforts.
