The Structural Packaging Designer / Engineer plays a key role in the development of functional, manufacturable, and visually compelling rigid packaging solutions. This position offers the opportunity to work across multiple industries and clients, supporting diverse creative preferences, functional goals, and product requirements.
Working closely with Client Services and Production teams, this role supports the full project lifecycle: from initial concepts and dielines to physical prototypes and full-scale production right on-site. This is a fast-paced position that requires creativity, technical problem-solving, attention to detail, strong organizational habits, and a passion for producing high-quality luxury packaging.

Key Responsibilities
Structural Design & Engineering
- Create precision-engineered rigid box structures using ArtiosCAD, balancing manufacturability, functionality, and luxury presentation.
- Develop dielines, technical drawings, prototypes, and 3D renders for customer projects.
- Assist in creating physical hand-made samples for client review and approval.
- Support packaging analysis related to pack-out, palletization, and structural performance.
- Recommend materials and construction methods based on product protection, design intent, and manufacturing capabilities.
Project Collaboration & Client Support
- Collaborate with Project Managers and clients to develop structural packaging concepts that meet project requirements and industry standards.
- Communicate technical considerations clearly to support accurate pricing, timelines, and project execution.
- Work closely with Production teams to confirm designs are manufacturable and aligned with plant capabilities.
- Participate in concept reviews, design revisions, and project discussions throughout development.
Quality, Testing & Documentation
- Perform prototyping and structural testing to validate packaging functionality and durability.
- Revise designs based on production feedback, quality findings, or client changes.
- Maintain organized technical documentation, including drawings, BOMs, assembly instructions, and archived files.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to design processes and engineering standards.
Qualifications
- Experience in structural packaging design, packaging engineering, or manufacturing environments preferred.
- Proficiency in ArtiosCAD required; experience with Adobe Creative Suite, SolidWorks, CAPE, and/or 3D rendering software is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Understanding of packaging materials, structural design principles, and production processes.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective time management and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.

Pay: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour
