The Lead Engineer will own the end‑to‑end technical delivery of a custom-built Operational Risk / GRC platform for a large financial institution. This role combines strong hands‑on engineering leadership with deep Operational Risk / GRC domain understanding, guiding multiple workstreams across UI, workflow, and data.
Key Responsibilities
- Own overall solution architecture for the custom GRC platform (UI, workflow, data)
- Translate Operational Risk & GRC business requirements into scalable technical designs
- Lead delivery across:
- React‑based UI engineers
- Camunda workflow engineers
- Snowflake data engineers
- Define standards for coding, workflow modeling, data design, and integrations
- Partner with Risk, Compliance, Audit, and Product stakeholders to ensure regulatory alignment
- Drive build‑from‑scratch engineering (no vendor GRC products)
- Review designs, code, workflows, and data models for quality and consistency
- Leverage AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., Windsurf) to improve velocity and quality
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience leading custom GRC / Operational Risk platforms in financial services
- Deep domain knowledge of:
- RCSA, Issues Management, Loss Events
- Controls, KRIs, Risk Appetite
- Hands‑on experience with:
- React (enterprise UI)
- Camunda (workflow orchestration)
- Snowflake (risk data & reporting)
- Experience leading multi‑disciplinary engineering teams
- Strong stakeholder communication and ownership mindset.
