Job Overview
Purus Group is seeking reliable and driven Fiber Bury Crew Technicians to support underground fiber installations for residential and multi-dwelling unit projects. This role focuses on trenching, boring, conduit placement, and fiber protection to ensure long-term infrastructure quality. Bury crews are a critical part of our field operations and play a direct role in maintaining clean, durable installations that meet city and client standards.
This position is ideal for hands-on workers who take pride in physical work, precision, and leaving sites clean and compliant.
Responsibilities
- Perform underground fiber installations including trenching, hand digging, and backfilling
- Bore under sidewalks and driveways using hand augers or pneumatic boring equipment
- Install conduit, sleeves, and pull tape for fiber protection
- Place warning tape and ensure proper burial depth per project specifications
- Restore disturbed areas including soil, turf, and landscaping to a clean finish
- Identify and avoid underground utilities by following locate markings and safe digging practices
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work vehicles in safe operating condition
- Document completed work with photos and job notes as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in underground utility work, fiber burial, or construction labor
- Familiarity with hand tools, trenching tools, and basic boring equipment
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong attention to safety and job site awareness
- Physically capable of lifting, digging, and performing repetitive labor tasks
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a crew
