Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Brazer/Assembler to join our dynamic fabrication team. This role involves precision metal fabrication, assembly, and welding to produce high-quality components and systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, experience interpreting technical drawings, and proficiency with various welding techniques. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to accurately assemble components.
- Perform brazing using appropriate techniques such as gas metal arc welding (GMAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), TIG, and FCAW to join metal parts securely.
- Use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and measuring tapes to ensure parts meet specified dimensions according to blueprint specifications.
- Operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment safely and efficiently during fabrication and assembly processes.
- Fabricate sheet metal components by cutting, bending, soldering, and assembling according to project requirements while adhering to ASME codes & standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while following safety protocols related to welding, cutting, machining, and handling metal materials.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks involving ductwork, mechanical fabrication, and metal materials to meet production deadlines.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction site environments or fabrication shops involving metalworking tasks.
- Ability to interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics accurately.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math for precise fabrication.
- Mechanical knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, ductwork assembly, machining processes, and soldering techniques.
- Experience working with power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, gas torches, and other fabrication equipment safely.
- Understanding of ASME codes & standards related to metal fabrication and welding practices.
- Excellent safety protocol adherence in all aspects of fabrication work.
