What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Controller position at Purposive Consulting LLC?
Our client, a growing manufacturer and distributor of chemical products sold to commercial entities and distributors around the Northeast , is seeking a controller to oversee the daily financial operations of the organization.
You will oversee multiple business lines in a rapidly growing business, serve as the second most senior financial professional within the organization and take part in the growth of the company with an expanding geographical and product footprint. Lots of room to grow in the role!
Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of financial reporting and oversight activities.
- Manage monthly, quarterly and annual financial close as well as related reporting.
- Assist in the preparation of budgeting for the various divisions including manufacturing, logistics and wholesale.
- Record day to day accounting transactions and complete the posting process
- Maintain financial records, including purchases, invoices, receipts, and payments
- Execute monthly bank reconciliations for both checking and credit card accounts.
- Work with outside accounting firm in the preparation of tax returns or audits as appropriate.
- Assist with the preparation of schedules needed to manage and maintain insurance needs, including General Liability, D&O, etc.
- Work with the accounting team in an efficient and effective manner.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting
- Knowledge of SAP a strong plus
- Experience in manufacturing a plus but NOT required
- Strong Excel skills.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
