Purple Toad Winery is looking for a motivated and experienced Tasting Room Manager to lead our front-of-house team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys connecting with people, brings energy to the room, and knows how to both lead and work alongside others. We’re looking for someone who’s organized, full of ideas, and excited to help improve the customer experience and how we run day to day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage weekday tasting room operations, including opening and closing duties
- Lead by example with strong customer service, hospitality, and product knowledge
- Train and supervise team members, ensuring smooth weekday operations
- Work closely with ownership and the weekend supervisor to plan schedules and resolve any issues
- Maintain cleanliness, inventory organization, and a welcoming tasting room environment
- Handle point-of-sale systems, tip pools, and daily sales reporting
- Suggest and implement ideas to improve workflow, service, and promotions
- Coordinate with production and events teams as needed
- Handle customer concerns in a calm, professional way
- Support event planning and weekday private tastings
Technology Comfort:
- Comfortable using point-of-sale systems, spreadsheets, and scheduling tools
- Willing to learn and use tools like Asana, Slack, and other workflow platforms
- Interest in new technology — especially AI tools or automation ideas that could improve efficiency and customer experience — is a plus
Who We’re Looking For:
- Prior experience in hospitality or retail, especially in a supervisory or management role
- Strong leadership and communication skills — able to manage people and hold them accountable in a fair, respectful way
- Organized and self-motivated, with the ability to manage tasks independently
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Customer-focused, with a friendly and professional attitude
- Wine knowledge is a bonus, but not required — we’ll train the right person
Schedule:
- Monday through Thursday, 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM. You’ll work 4 ten-hour days, giving you long weekends off. This position focuses on weekday operations and project management while the weekend team is led by other staff.
- Salary: $45,000 per year (exempt, full-time)

This is a full-time, salaried position based on a Monday–Thursday schedule (40 hours/week). Occasional flexibility may be needed for special events or winery projects.
