Overview:
Looking for a Data Center Technician with 1–2 years of experience to support rack & stack, cabling, hardware installation, and basic troubleshooting. The role involves handling servers, switches, and network components, ensuring proper installation, connectivity, and compliance with data center standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform rack & stack of servers, switches, and storage devices
- Handle fiber & Ethernet cabling, labeling, and cable management
- Install, relocate, and decommission hardware
- Conduct smoke testing and hardware validation
- Provide L1 support (server, network, connectivity issues)
- Act as remote hands (power cycling, cable reseating, console access)
- Maintain inventory, asset tracking, and audit records
- Monitor alerts and update tickets using ITSM tools
Required Skills:
- Basic networking (IP, switching, routing concepts)
- Server hardware knowledge (NIC, memory, drives)
- Fiber & Ethernet cabling
- ITSM tools (ServiceNow or similar)
- Console tools (SSH, PuTTY)
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication & coordination
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work in 24×7 shifts
