Manual Machinist - 2nd & 3rd Shift
Location: Indianapolis, IN 46201
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Experience: 3 years
Compensation: $22/hr - $28/hr, with highly skilled candidates who meet all requirements potentially earning up to $30/hr.
Shift Options:
- 2nd Shift: 3:30 PM - 11:00 PM
- 3rd Shift: 10:30 PM - 7:00 AM
We are seeking experienced Manual Machinists for 2nd and 3rd shift. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience operating manual mills and/or lathes, performing machine setups, reading blueprints, and making precision measurements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate manual mills, lathes, grinders, drill presses, and related equipment.
- Perform turning, milling, threading, boring, drilling, and grinding operations.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Use precision measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges.
- Work with fractions, decimals, tolerances, measurements, and gauges.
- Perform machine adjustments and setups to meet required dimensions and tolerances.
- Work with a variety of metals and manufacturing components.
Requirements:
- 3 years of hands-on machining or mechanical experience.
- Strong Manual Machinist experience.
- Hands-on experience with manual mills and/or lathes.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work onsite in Indianapolis, IN.
Preferred:
- Technical certificate or Associate degree in a mechanical/electrical field.
- Experience with traditional/"old school" manual machine setup methods.
- Experience with welding, balancing equipment, or precision machining.
Important: This position requires strong manual machining experience. CNC-only machinists are not a match, as the role requires immediate hands-on experience with manual machines.
