The SONYC|Purelements After School Programs are seeking talented, highly motivated, and engaging artists and specialists to join our team. We are a dynamic afterschool program dedicated to enriching the lives of middle school students across New York City. Our mission is to provide engaging, educational, and creative activities that inspire young minds and encourage personal growth.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Cosmetology Activity Specialist to lead afterschool workshops for middle school students. This role is perfect for someone who loves sharing their knowledge of beauty and self-care while creating a positive and supportive environment for young learners.
Qualifications:
- Experience in cosmetology, beauty services, or related fields.
- Passion for working with middle school students and fostering their growth.
- Experience teaching students in an urban setting (Preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Creativity and the ability to adapt lessons to suit varying skill levels.
- Ability to commit to a consistent afterschool schedule.
- At least three years of professional experience in your field of expertise
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with at least 2 years of college experience
- Ability to participate in group project planning and professional development opportunities
- Compliance with fingerprinting and security clearance requirements by the NYC Department of Health.
This is an IMMEDIATE HIRE position
