Purelements: An Evolution in Dance is looking for an experienced Site Coordinator to lead our Extended School Day afterschool program for our K-5 elementary school in Brooklyn.

Purelements: An Evolution In Dance uses multiple facets of the performing arts as educational tools to evolve and transform the individuals and communities it serves, and to present dynamic performances that are socially relevant and impactful. Purelements' mission unfolds through an art-in-education program, performing arts program, and its professional and pre-professional dance companies.
Role and Responsibilities
After School Site Coordinator manages programs outside of school hours for children grades K-5. During the designated hours, the Site Coordinator provides leadership, direction, supervision, and support to program staff to ensure desired program goals and outcomes are met.
Site Coordinator generally works closely with the Principal and Multi-Site Supervisor to provide an enriching and educationally sound experience via the following methods:
- Lead Program Operations: Supervise daily afterschool programming, ensuring activities align with student interests, school goals, and Purelements’ mission.
- Manage & Support Staff: Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to program staff, including Assistant Site Directors, Group Leaders, and Teaching Artists.
- Foster Relationships: Build strong, collaborative relationships with students, families, school partners, and the community.
- Ensure Safety & Compliance: Monitor safety procedures, maintain a nurturing environment, and ensure compliance with all DOE, DOH, and DYCD regulations.
- Oversee Administration: Handle site logistics, staff schedules, materials management, budgeting, and SACC licensing requirements.
- Evaluate & Report: Track program outcomes and student progress using formal and informal assessments. Prepare and share updates with parents, schools, and funders.
- Represent the Program: Serve as the primary contact for the school principal and represent Purelements at meetings, community events, and with stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 3-5 years of experience working with urban youth.
- Administrative experience gained while working with arts-based programs are a plus. Professional arts and/or child care background is a plus.
- Culturally responsive leadership, with a deep appreciation for Afro-diasporic culture and the communities we serve.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead a team, multitask, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Must complete DOH & DOE fingerprinting, background checks, and become certified in CPR/First Aid.
Part time: $25 – $28/hr; Mon/Wed/Fri - 25 hrs/ week or commensurate with experience
