About the Role:
As an Intern Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the engineering team to optimize manufacturing processes and improve production efficiency. This position offers hands-on experience in analyzing current manufacturing methods, identifying areas for improvement, and assisting in the implementation of innovative solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including design, quality, and production to ensure seamless integration of engineering changes. Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Previous internship or project experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of data analysis tools such as Minitab or MATLAB.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Interest in automotive or fuel system manufacturing
- Understanding of GD&T and basic dimensional inspection methods
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the analysis and documentation of existing manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and potential improvements.
- Support the development and testing of new manufacturing techniques and equipment under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in data collection and analysis to monitor process performance and quality metrics.
- Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, process documentation, and presentations for internal stakeholders.
Skills:
