We are seeking an experienced and client-focused Senior Audit Accountant to join our Audit & Assurance team. This full-time role offers the opportunity to take an active role in planning, performing, and completing audit and other assurance engagements while working directly with clients and supporting the development of junior team members. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in public accounting, sound technical accounting and auditing skills, and the ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines while delivering accurate, timely, and professional client service.


Key Responsibilities


  • Plan, perform, and complete audit, review, compilation, and other assurance engagements in accordance with applicable professional and Firm standards
  • Coordinate assigned engagement activities, including client requests, fieldwork, documentation, and established timelines
  • Prepare financial statements and related disclosures in accordance with applicable accounting standards
  • Review financial statements, workpapers, and other engagement documentation prepared by staff accountants and provide clear, constructive feedback
  • Identify accounting, auditing, internal control, and financial reporting matters requiring additional consideration and communicate findings to engagement leadership and clients, as appropriate
  • Develop an understanding of clients’ businesses, industries, operations, and accounting systems to effectively assess risks and perform engagement procedures
  • Communicate directly with clients regarding information requests, engagement status, accounting matters, deadlines, and other questions
  • Research accounting and auditing matters and apply relevant professional guidance, including FASB, GASB, and AICPA standards, as applicable
  • Assist with the supervision, coaching, and development of staff accountants during engagements
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and well-organized engagement documentation while protecting the confidentiality of client and Firm information
  • Organize and prioritize multiple engagements and assignments while meeting established deadlines
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable accounting and auditing standards, professional requirements, and Firm policies and procedures, and contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented environment


Qualifications


The ideal candidate will bring:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent public accounting experience, including meaningful experience with audit and assurance engagements
  • CPA license or demonstrated progress toward CPA licensure preferred
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and applicable auditing and assurance standards
  • Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements, workpapers, and related engagement documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound professional judgment, identify matters requiring additional attention, and perform work accurately
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and coworkers
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple engagements and competing deadlines
  • Ability to work independently, recognize when consultation is appropriate, and provide guidance to developing team members
  • Commitment to responsive, high-quality client service and the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
