Process Operator UHT

The Processing Operator operates all UHT process equipment as trained, including automation system, processing machines, and powered industrial trucks while maintaining high quality standards that meet or exceed Puratos and customer requirements. Operators will be trained to operate UHT dosing equipment, scaling systems, packaging lines, and any powered industrial equipment

Shifts: 1st: 6:30am -3:00pm

Primary Responsibilities

• Safely work with automated industrial equipment, including operation, change over and basic maintenance.
• Report all food safety and quality issues to immediate Supervisor and / Quality technician.
• Immediately report any safety issues to the supervisor, maintenance or management.
• Responsible for the overall safety, quality, and efficiency of their work center
• Maintain a neat and sanitary work area at all times
• Demonstrate the ability to operate and understand control system
• Learn specific UHT areas until mastery is confirmed by completing training and testing requirements
• Scaling, manual dumping, supersack dosing, packaging equipment operation, running CIPs, and forklift operation
• Rotate positions as needed.
• Review and start production orders in MES and the process control system.
• Collaborate with maintenance to resolve mechanical issues.
• Ensure production is not impeded throughout the shift.
• Identify production changes and suggest corrective actions.
• Operate and run CIP systems via the process control system
  
  

Requirements:

• At least 2 years working as operator in related industry
• Hight School or GED required
• Basic computer literacy required; capacity to understand a computer operating system
• Ability to use production computer screens as instructed.
• Ability to train other production operators
• SQF training, GMP training, SOP training
• Ability to complete skill assessments with passing scores as defined by Puratos
• Ability to read and understand system instruction and training materials and show ability to execute.
• Ability to work overtime when mandated in accordance with the contract
• Ability to work independently.
• Physical Demands: Frequently lift up to 55-75 lbs; Occasional sitting, stooping/twisting, kneeling, squatting, push/pull, reaching, and gripping; frequent standing and walking; constant visual acuity (near/far); never climbing/balancing or crawling
• Environmental Conditions: Occasional exposure to uneven ground, excessive noise, extreme temperatures, working at heights, dust/fumes, and hazards; frequent exposure to machinery

Compensation:

• Hourly rate $24.84
• Compensation is governed by the union pay scale, with scheduled step increases as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.
