Position Summary
Pumptec is seeking a detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Specialist to manage inbound and outbound shipments, verify inventory, and support production continuity across our pump manufacturing operations.
This role coordinates closely with purchasing and production teams to ensure supplies are accurately shipped, tracked, recorded, stored, and available when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for coordinating incoming shipments, verifying quantities with purchase orders and packing slips.
- Process and prepare outbound shipments, including domestic and international orders, ensuring accurate documentation (packing lists, bills of lading, customs paperwork).
- Pack goods in shipping containers, assist with loading and unloading trucks.
- Develop mailing labels and shipping documents and ensure that all orders have been filled correctly.
- Assist with root-cause analysis on shrinkage, damage, or shipping errors and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor, record, and reconcile inventory transactions for components and pump products within the ERP system (Epicor).
- Perform scheduled counts and periodic physical inventories; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain organized warehouse locations and bin/shelf labeling to support accurate picking and put-away.
- Track min/max stock levels; put pallets away once they are received
- Collaborate with Purchasing Lead for production planning to inform of all shipping related supplies on hand so as not to delay shipments.
- Support intercompany inventory transfers and coordination with Pumptec’s supply partners.
- 1-2 years experienced with operating warehouse equipment (palletjacks, forklift) safely and in accordance with company policy (preferred).
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; certification or training in logistics a plus
- 3-5 years of experience in shipping/receiving or logistics, manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of ERP/inventory management systems (Epicor, or similar).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general office software.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs and operate material handling equipment (forklift certification a plus, or willingness to obtain).
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements in Work Environment
This role is based on-site in a manufacturing/warehouse setting.
Requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods, and occasional exposure to warehouse conditions (temperature variation, noise, machinery).
