Position Summary
Pumptec is seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to manage inbound and outbound material flow, maintain inventory accuracy, and support production continuity across our pump manufacturing operations.
This role coordinates closely with purchasing and production teams to ensure components, finished goods, and supplies are accurately tracked, stored, and available when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, record, and reconcile inventory transactions for raw materials, components, and finished pump products within the ERP system.
- Perform scheduled cycle counts and periodic physical inventories; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Coordinate receiving of incoming shipments, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Process and prepare outbound shipments, including domestic and international orders, ensuring accurate documentation (packing lists, bills of lading, customs paperwork).
- Maintain organized warehouse locations and bin/shelf labeling to support accurate picking and put-away.
- Track min/max stock levels and flag reorder points to purchasing to prevent stockouts or excess inventory.
- Collaborate with production planning to ensure component availability for scheduled builds.
- Support intercompany inventory transfers and coordination with Pumptec’s supply partners.
- Generate and analyze inventory reports (aging, turns, variance) for management review.
- Assist with root-cause analysis on shrinkage, damage, or shipping errors and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain compliance with ISO 9001:2015 documented procedures related to inventory control and material handling.
- Experienced with operating warehouse equipment (pallet jack, forklift) safely and in accordance with company policy.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; certification or training in supply chain, business, or logistics a plus
- 2 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or logistics, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of ERP/inventory management systems (Epicor, or similar).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general office software.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate material handling equipment (forklift certification a plus, or willingness to obtain).
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements in Work Environment
- This role is based on-site in a manufacturing/warehouse setting.
- Requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods, and occasional exposure to warehouse conditions (temperature variation, noise, machinery).
