Job Details:
- Contract: 20 weeks
- Pay Rate: $71/hr for locals - $3,060/week for travelers
- Shift: Evenings, a small amount of openings for nights and days - 40hrs/week
- Experience: 1 year of Correctional RN experience
Requirements:
- CA RN License
- BLS
- MAB/CPI & Fire Card required before the start date
- 2 professional references

A correctional nurse delivers evidenced-based nursing to protect, promote, and optimize health and abilities; prevent illness and injury; facilitate healing; alleviate suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response with care and respect. A correctional nurse advocates for individuals, families, groups, communities, and populations under the jurisdiction of the justice system.
- Maintaining accurate, complete health care records and reports.
- Administering medications to patients and monitoring them for side effects and reactions.
- Prescribing assistive medical devices and related treatments.
- Recording patient vital signs and medical information.
- Ordering medical diagnostic and clinical tests.
