With over three decades of service to the Greater Dayton community, PMD is a trusted leader in pulmonary medicine and sleep disorder care. We are currently seeking front desk personnel who are dedicated to warm and compassionate interactions with our patients and their families.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Include but not limited to: Excellent customer service skills by greeting our patient warmly and being professional. Telephone contact with patients to schedule their appointments and manage their coordination of their appointment with orders in the Epic system. Patient checking in and checking out.
Processing patient registration, checking completeness of paperwork, verifying demographics, obtaining insurance cards, and patient identifications. Scanning cards and documentation into EMR. Scheduling appointments, collections, and explaining financial options to patients. Telephone skills include the ability to communicate clearly, maintaining a friendly and helpful demeanor. Experience in Epic scheduling is a plus.
Additional Functions: Must be able to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent situations, maintain professional appearance and personal conduct adhering to employer safety practices.
The Medical Receptionist/Scheduler is under the supervision of the Practice Manager

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or GED
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to communicate and relate well with office staff, ancillary departments and public, follow direction, accept orders, and perform repetitive tasks, be patient, courteous, and tactful.
- Able to work under time constraints, multi-task, and work autonomously with little direction.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and follow directions.
Required Qualifications:
- 2-years experience in a medical/physician office setting.
- Prior experience in patient registration/healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-10 coding.
- Experience with use of electronic scheduling in EPIC.
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS: Medical office. Outpatient services. Well lighted, well ventilated, and adequate space. Exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions common to clinic setting. Work may be stressful at times.
SCHEDULE: Full Time – Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm
WORK LOCATIONS: We have two offices. This position may be working from both Kettering and Miamisburg offices.
