MEDICAL OFFICE NEW PATIENT SCHEDULER
Pulmonary Medicine of Dayton, Inc. is the premier provider of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine services in the Dayton area.
With over three decades of service to the Greater Dayton community, PMD is a trusted leader in pulmonary medicine and sleep disorder care. We are currently seeking a New Patient Scheduler who is dedicated to warm and compassionate interactions with our patients and their families.

The New Patient Intake Scheduler, under the supervision of the Practice Manager, is responsible for processing new patient electronic referrals and scheduling the patient for consultation using the Epic EMR.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Include, but not limited to: Excellent customer service skills by greeting our patient warmly and being professional through telephone interactions. Process orders from referral sources and patients, responding to phone and fax inquiries. Processing patient registration, checking completeness of paperwork, verifying demographics, obtaining insurance information, and patient identifications.
Telephone skills include the ability to communicate clearly, maintaining a friendly and helpful demeanor. Experience in Epic scheduling is a plus.
Additional Functions: Must be able to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent situations, maintain professional appearance and personal conduct, adhere to employer safety practices, and maintain work area.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or GED
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to communicate and relate well with office staff, ancillary departments and public, follow direction, accept orders, and perform repetitive tasks, be patient, courteous, and tactful.
- Able to work under time constraints, multi-task, and work autonomously with little direction.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and follow directions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-year experience in a medical/physician office setting preferred.
- Prior experience in patient registration/healthcare preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-9 coding is preferred, but not required.
- Experience with use of electronic scheduling in EPIC.
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS: Medical office. Outpatient services. Well lighted, well ventilated, adequate space. Exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions common to clinic setting. Work may be stressful at times.
SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, Full-time 8am-5pm
