JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/ Objectives
The Logistics Manager position directs and manages all logistic operations with overall responsibilities for receiving, shipping, and inventory management.
Essential Functions

- Manages all logistics including receiving, inventory management, and shipping operations in Dothan, Alabama.
- Directs receiving, shipping and inventory logistics team members.
- Develop goals for the logistics department activities that meet and compliment company goals and expectations.
- Helps control inventory levels to meet company goals.
- Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts as needed.
- Coordinated logistics resources effectively to maintain efficient material handling and delivery to meet sales and production demands.
- Provide motivation, support and guidance to all logistics employees.
- Ensures the best shipping practices are utilized with an emphasis on negotiating the best shipping rates.
- Works proactively with various departments to realize efficiencies and manage expectations.
- Assist in employee recruitment, performance evaluation, and training.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position manages all employees of the Anodizing, Assembly, and Warehouse departments and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.
Work Environment
This position works in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters and tape dispensers.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type & Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday as scheduled. May work weekends.
Travel
Minimal travel is expected. Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
Required Education & Experience
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience supervising or managing personnel in an inventory control or logistics operation, while utilizing a computerized inventory management system.
Preferred Education & Experience
Knowledge of Microsoft office programs including word, excel, Visio, and PowerPoint- Three years of manufacturing industry experience
- Three years of experience with Epicor
