We provide a variety of support services to charter schools and non-profits. This includes but is not limited to human resources, operations, IT and data management, facilities guidance, fundraising, grant management, college access, alumni relations, charter development and renewal, and compliance.
The Team Member we are searching for
Under the direct supervision of the Chief of HR, the HR Generalist will handle all functions of HR with a focus on employee relations while
exemplifying excellent customer service. The team member in this role will have the opportunity to learn the multiple areas of HR. The role is
located in Burbank, however it will require some driving to school sites.
What you will need to accomplish:
Employee Relations
- Conduct monthly meetings with school Principals and other Supervisors to discuss and review HR situations
- Guide team members and management with the interpretation and correct application of company policies, procedures, programs, and practices while exercising the highest degree of confidentiality and professionalism
- Assist and guide managers with employee concerns
- Conduct or assist with investigations
- Serve as a neutral party and advocate for PUC team members
- Work with the Chief of HR on any HR projects/initiatives
Compliance
- Work with team members to ensure all team members understand and adhere to established policies and procedures
- Conduct periodic audits of employee files, benefits, time off, etc.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, local employment, and benefits laws and regulations
- Support with LAUSD audits by working with the HR team and Credential Specialist
- Assist with the Hiring/Exiting Process
- Meet with new hires to collect and process new hire paperwork
- Support with New Hire Orientation
Payroll
- Process payroll changes as needed
Benefits
- Collaborate with the benefits Rep on new enrollments and terminations
Recruitment
- Support recruitment efforts
Other
- Provide VOE letters and similar correspondence
- Assist with HR events
- Gather data and produce reports
- Manage and enhance employee perks
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources Management, related field, or equivalent training and experience required
Experience:
-
4 years of Human Resources experience required

Minimum 1-2 years of hands-on experience managing Employee Relations (ER) issues in a multi-site environment required
Skills and Abilities

Proficient with Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Occasionally required to kneel, climb and reach with hands and arms above shoulder level, lift up to 30 pounds. To bend, sit, stand, squat, stoop, walk, push, pull, and reach with hands and arms at shoulder level or below. Always required to wear the appropriate safety equipment for the task, which may include gloves, goggles, aprons, belts, etc.
