Overview

Looking for a team-oriented VP of Experience Design to create strategies based on data, insights, and problem-solving for client needs. This position is a crucial partner to internal Client Management, Media Planning, Audience Design, Investment, Content, Data Science, and Analytics teams. You will use your expertise to connect the dots for teammates and clients to ensure an audience first approach and execution. 


Responsibilities

  • Act as a “connector” across teams, internally and externally, and with partners and clients. Lead the development of holistic strategy across comms, insights, and platforms that serve as the north star, ensuring seamless end-to-end integration across media channels, creative, and content activation.
  • Provide clear and concise direction during the early stages of the media planning and tactical processes (across Content, Social, Search, Programmatic, Video, offline channels, etc.). Be the voice of the consumer during the investment stages.
  • Bring a deep understanding of diverse, target consumers and strategic guidance to define high value audiences. Simplify client inputs to identify the critical communications tasks.
  • Construct narratives that guarantee content and media plans are rooted in overarching comms strategy.
  • Identify upstream opportunities in content and media partnerships to super-charge media plans. Work downstream with the Analytics team to ensure performance takeaways tie back to Comms Strategy. 
  • Co-develop thought leadership alongside EVP, Experience Strategy and present to client executives.
  • Build a strong and successful client relationship; engage regularly with them to understand their needs and help to grow their business.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with other agency capability teams, partners, and third parties. Be a core contributor of the integrated agency team (IAT) and a strong voice representing Spark’s strategic work in leadership forum.
  • RFP stage: Partner with content, planning, and activations teams to facilitate ideas and innovation prior to RFP delivery. Leverage media and social/cultural trends to develop deeper understanding of audiences and fuel ideas tactics that reflect audience mentalities and the voice of the consumer.

Qualifications

  • 10 years of relevant experience 
  • Hands-on experience working with audience data sources. Excel and PowerPoint skills are critical.
  • Ability to use soft skills and collaborative techniques with partners across the client team.
  • Ability to explain complex approaches in simple language that is relevant and meaningful to clients.
  • Possess a hunger and curiosity to drive innovation and uptake of emerging platforms and new ideas.
  • Strategic problem solver. You take the bigger picture into account, analyze everything, and think critically when solving problems to develop unconventional solutions.
  • You constantly look for the latest industry news, keeping up with new media/technology and marketing opportunities, and social, cultural, and category information.

Compensation Range: $156,560 - $235,620 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
