Riverside Legal Aid is seeking a full-time Intake Specialist for our Indio office.
Riverside Legal Aid is a nonprofit law firm dedicated to providing free civil legal services to low-income residents throughout Riverside County. Our team is committed to expanding access to justice by providing high-quality legal representation, education, and advocacy to individuals and families in need.
This position serves as the first point of contact for many of our clients and plays a critical role in ensuring they receive compassionate, professional, and efficient assistance.
Position Responsibilities
- Answer, screen, and transfer incoming telephone calls.
- Return client voicemail messages promptly and professionally.
- Conduct client intake interviews using our case management system.
- Determine eligibility for services and schedule appointments.
- Enter accurate, clear, and concise intake notes.
- Upload and organize client documents for attorney review.
- Assist attorneys and paralegals with case management and administrative support.
- Respond to client inquiries or direct clients to the appropriate staff member.
- Maintain a professional, welcoming, and organized reception area.
- Represent Riverside Legal Aid at occasional community outreach events.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Schedule
- Monday–Thursday: In-office (Indio)
- Friday: Remote work from home
- Regular office hours are 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Compensation & Benefits
- $28.00 per hour

Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work professionally with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Basic computer proficiency
Preferred
- Previous receptionist, administrative, customer service, or intake experience
- Experience using Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office
- Experience working in a legal office, nonprofit organization, or social services environment
