Business Development Officer

We are seeking a self-starting, energetic business relationship professional to assume the role of Business Development Officer. This position will work directly with senior leadership and the Lead Business Development Officer to develop and execute marketing plans that will support the organization’s growth and connect with current and prospective members.

The main duties:

• 
  Become a subject matter expert on credit union products and services to deliver effective and influential presentations at credit union-sponsored events, staff, and community functions.
• 
  Assist in all aspects of the sales and marketing CRM (HubSpot).
• 
  Serve as staff liaison to designated groups or organizations within the first responder community. Coordinate volunteer staffing for public relations events and sponsorships, as needed.
• 
  Work with other departments and outside vendors to increase service delivery, efficiency, and profitability.

 The ‘must-have’ list:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of experience in marketing, public relations, or communications is preferred.

  Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate and build relationships.
• Eagerness to foster relationships and building community engagement through events.
• 
  *Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license with the ability to travel in the KC Metro area.
• 
  Willing to spend a minimum of 50% of your time out of the office fostering agency relationships with in-person visits and event participation throughout the KC Metro area.

The wish list:

• 
  Experience in sales and marketing CRMs.
• 
  Involvement with lead lifecycle sales processes and workflows.
• 
  Experience in event planning and coordination.
• 
  Previous financial institution experience.
  
  

The details

• Schedule – This is a full-time position requiring flexibility to support agency visits, presentations, outreach activities, and business development events, including evenings and weekends as needed.
• Status: Full Time, Exempt
• Starting Salary: $53,500 DOE
• Location: Main Branch located at 2800 E 14th Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64127*
