Resource and Services Navigator

Do you crave a job where you can make a difference and serve the public? Public Health - Idaho North Central District is recruiting a Resources and Services Navigator (Parent Educator) to join the dedicated group of public health professionals in the Parents as Teachers (PAT) program.

A certified Parent Educator implements the PAT model, emphasizing parent‐child interaction, development‐centered parenting, and family well‐being in their work with families.

As a Parent Educator and public health employee, you will serve an active role in improving the health of your community. As part of a small, but mighty team, you will utilize the PAT Foundational Curricula in culturally sensitive ways to partner, facilitate, and reflect with families. A bachelor’s or four-year degree in early childhood education, social work, health, psychology, or a related field is required (or equivalent degree outside of the U.S.) for this position. The parent educator must complete the Parents as Teachers Foundational and Model Implementation Trainings before delivering PAT services.

Typical Duties:

• Engage in program recruitment activities
• Conduct initial and annual family-centered assessments
• Develop, monitor, and review goals with families
• Provide personal visits focused on parent-child interaction, development-centered parenting, and family well-being using PAT curriculum
• Facilitate group connections for social support among families
• Engage in parent-child interaction activities to enhance developmental support
• Perform initial and annual developmental screenings and health reviews for each child
• Connect families to relevant resources
• Assist with transitions to other services as needed

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
