Overview:
PTS Advance is seeking Area / Service Planning Technicians to support local Florida utility clients in the Plant City area. These individuals will play a key role in planning and coordinating new or upgraded electrical service for residential customers. This is a highly customer-facing, field-based role ideal for candidates with utility, co-op, or design engineering experience who are comfortable working directly with homeowners, electricians, and internal utility teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform area and service planning for residential electrical service requests
- Meet directly with homeowners and electricians to assess service needs and site conditions
- Develop and coordinate plans for new service installations, upgrades, or modifications
- Manage a weekly workload of service requests (typically 8–10 locations)
- Utilize field time and mobile resources (take-home truck) to complete site visits and planning activities
- Collaborate with utility teams to ensure accurate and timely execution
- Provide excellent customer service and clear communication throughout the planning process
- Ensure all work aligns with utility standards, safety requirements, and local regulations
Qualifications:
- Experience in utility service planning, area planning, or design engineering preferred
- Background with utilities is highly desirable
- Strong customer-facing experience and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a field-based environment
- Comfortable managing a schedule and traveling locally to multiple sites daily
- Valid driver’s license (company vehicle / take-home truck provided)
Preferred Experience:
- Knowledge of residential electrical service design and installation
- Familiarity with utility standards and service requirements
- Experience working directly with electricians, builders, or homeowners
Work Environment:
- Based out of office in Plant City, FL
- Field-based role with daily site visits (typically 1–2 hours in the field per day)
- Take-home truck provided
- Weekly schedule driven by assigned service requests
