Right of Way Specialist
PTS Advance is seeking an experienced Right of Way Specialist to support utility and infrastructure projects by securing property rights, negotiating easements, and managing land-related agreements. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional with a background in right of way, real estate, land acquisition, or title research who enjoys working independently while collaborating with project teams and property owners.
Key Responsibilities
- Negotiate right of way easements on behalf of clients.
- Negotiate the removal of encroachments or establish license agreements for encroachments on transmission easements and fee-owned right of way.
- Conduct desktop reviews and field verification of potential encroachments.
- Analyze, prepare, review, and interpret deeds, easements, leases, permits, licenses, and other land and right of way agreements.
- Perform rights and restrictions reviews and real property document research.
- Interpret easement agreements and provide guidance on land rights.
- Support the translation of right of way documentation into stakeholder management databases.
- Conduct document research and maintain accurate project records.
- Effectively manage multiple assignments while meeting project deadlines.
- Provide support to clients and project teams as needed.
- Work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED with 5 years of relevant experience, or
- Associate's Degree with 3 years of relevant experience, or
- Bachelor's Degree with 2 years of relevant experience.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience negotiating right of way, easements, or other real estate agreements.
- Ability to read and interpret title reports, appraisal reports, land surveys, deeds, and easements.
- Working knowledge of real estate law and title work.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Experience working with database management systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Valid driver's license and the ability to meet company motor vehicle safety requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- SR/WA designation or other International Right of Way Association (IRWA) certification.
- Real Estate Broker License or Real Estate Sales License.
